PETERS BANDED SKINKS
General description
The Peter's Banded Skink is one of the smaller species of skink because they don't even reach 12 inches. They can average a size of between 8-10.5 inches. They can be a dull or bright yellow with 8 black bands running from neck to tail. The males are typically bulkier and have a broader head.
FEEDING INFORMATION
They eat a variety of insects but they can eat some vegetables and fruits. These are mainly insectivores and the size of their food will depend on the size of the animal. The link below will take you to Dubia Paul. He is a seller of live food who we can guarantee good quality, healthy bugs from :)
DO'S
Do try and buy them from a breeder who has captive bred them as with these skinks most are actually wild caught.
DON'TS
Don't use a mud substrate as these are sand dwellers and they will need around 3/4 inches deep substrate.
SET UP INFORMATION
Glass Exo Terra 2 1/ft long vivarium will be needed. There should be a heat and UVB bulb. You should provide them with a substrate of 3/4 inches deep as they are burrowing animals. They will prefer to hunt at night so a food and water bowl will need to be provided.
